Something Old, Something New

When I got this dress years ago, I loved it. But I haven't worn it in the last couple years because I felt it was too revealing. It was too short, and I was always pulling up the strapless top. The style was just a bit too youthful for a old lawyer lady like me. ;)

So I ripped out the seams and started over with the fabric, and created this more modest and more flattering skirt! Can't wait to get more use out of this old and yet new piece!

I haven't quite figured out how to pair it yet (this is a bit too matchy matchy for me). I tried it with a very casual orange top and a brown belt and I liked the more bohemian look it gave it, but I wasn't sure about the brown belt orange top combo...Anyway, I think I could probably pair it with any kind of neutral as long as the belt I choose doesn't clash. We'll see!

  1. This is adorable! Nice DIY switch up. Although we told you that dress looked fine before. Haha. Good job! Marlene and I were just reading your post together. You did good and were quite proud!

  2. Very creative, Banana! And, now more versatile, especially with this wintery weather coming. I'm thinking of everything in terms of wintery versatility these days it seems. Maybe I'll get to see it in person someday soon ;)
